The 2018-2019 negotiated agreements with both the Modesto Teachers Association (MTA) and the Classified School Employees Association (CSEA) included the creation of the Health Benefits Committee with the goal of “…explor(ing) potential health benefit cost containments and help reduce employee out of pocket costs.” The Committee serves as an advisory body and its work will involve examining the District’s current Health Benefits structures and options, and providing an end of process summary by February 1, 2020.
The Committee is comprised of four representatives from MTA, CSEA and management, with a Co-Chairperson from each of the respective groups. The Co-Chairpersons are Mike Doornewaard (MTA), Don Corgiat (CSEA) and Mike Henderson (Management).
