Financial Aid

The financial aid applications are finally open! It is time for you to complete a financial aid application - FAFSA (Free Application For Student Aid) or CADAA    (CA Dream Act).  Complete by March 3rd, 2025.

Completing a financial aid application allows students to be considered for federal aid (Pell grant and student loans - FAFSA applicants only), state aid (Cal Grant and CA Promise Grant), institutional aid (varies by institution). If a student does not complete a financial aid application, institutions will determine that you intend to pay completely out of pocket.

FAFSA: The FAFSA is the financial aid application for students who are a U.S. Citizen or an eligible non-citizen. U.S. Citizen or an eligible non-citizen (Legal Permanent Resident, Refugees or those granted Asylum, T-Visa Holders).

CA Dream Act: The CADAA is the financial aid application for students who are residents of the State of California that do not qualify to complete the FAFSA application. residents of the State of California that do not qualify to complete the FAFSA application (Undocumented Students, With or Without Daca, TPS Status, U-Visa Holders).

Seniors, start your financial aid applications.

Ms. Luz will be coming into your Economics classes at the end of this month and February 4th and February 7th with MJC's financial aid office to conduct financial aid workshops for the student section. 
SENIORS FILING THE FAFSA DURING THE ECONOMICS CLASS WORKSHOP MUST KNOW THEIR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER IN ADDITION TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • PARENTS' FULL LEGAL NAME

  • PARENTS' DATE OF BIRTH

  • PARENTS’ PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS

  • PARENTS' SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER (if they have one)

FAFSA filers (United States citizens) or eligible non-citizens (permanent residents).

CADAA filers (AB 540 eligible and do not have a social security number).
